This was a great experience for my son, daughter and myself. Although weíve gone to quarries before, this was the first guided tour. Seabury is a wealth of information and really helped us to understand what we were looking at. Thanks... we will be back!

Our family had a great time at the mine. Our guide, Seabury, was fantastic. He knew everything there was to know about the mine and made the whole experience fun for all of us.

Even though the weather did not cooperate we had a terrific afternoon. I didnít even mind digging through the mud. Came up with some nice size specimens. Seabury was a wonderful guide and conversationalist. Iíd highly recommend a visit. P.S. Seabury, from one potter to another get your hands back in the mud!

We took the trip to the mine thinking it would be interesting to see what a mine looked like. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip - a wonderful adventure! Our guide, Seabury made the whole trip worthwhile, with lots of interesting information about the minerals in this area. We are hooked now! We will be trying the sluicing the next chance we get. Thank you! Thank you!

We are vacationing at Papoose Pond, having travelled from Granville, Ohio. The manager of the resort, Rocky, suggested that we drive to Bethel and check out gem sluicing. What we expected to be interesting turned out to be fantastic! Our girls (8 and 5) were excited to find bits of green tourmaline and optical quartz. We also enjoyed the guidance and company of our new friend, Seabury. Thanks!

My children and I visited from Indiana for a week, and we saw an ad for the Gem Sluice in Bethel. We just had to go. What a time we had! My children learned how a sluice works, and they learned to identify various minerals and gems. What a great educational experience! I think my children have a new hobby; collecting rocks. They left with a bag (and a bucket!) full of gems and minerals. Thank you for a great experience!!!

I live in California and wanted to do something different on my "day off" while visiting Bethel Maine. So, I had the pleasure of visiting the Bumpus Mine lead by the very articulate mine and gem educator, Seaberry Lyons. I took home gorgeous large and small pieces of pink quartz (known for healing qualities) and should have taken more. It turned out to be a popular souvenir among my family and friends. This just means Iíll have to go back for more! Loved my excursion and would recommend it to anyone who loves mines, minerals, gems, rocks and dirt!!

This was an amazing experience, my two teenagers even enjoyed it, when introduced with the idea the oldest one, who is 17, said this idea was "lame" but after a day of having fun and digging he thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Seabury!
